Oct 03, 2021 · A new study published in the journal Jama Pediatrics found that more than half of young children have detectable levels of lead in their blood. This should raise alarm bells and drive our elected officials to action. As congressional negotiations over the Build Back Better Act are underway, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer must protect funding to remove lead from drinking water. The science is clear: No amount of lead is safe. Lead is dangerous to developing brains, which is why children are especially vulnerable to its harms. Nov 11, 2016 · Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, has promoted his early support of Donald Trump's candidacy as a great benefit for Western New York. He may soon have the chance to prove its worth. The issue has to do with Buffalo's SolarCity plant and Trump's support of the fossil fuel industry and skepticism of what most scientists see as the fact of human-caused climate change. The plant's success will rely to a great extent on the 30 percent federal investment tax credit on solar energy projects. Some fear that Trump may want to repeal it.
