Apr 15 · Read the latest news on CVOW here: 2.6 GW US Project Receives Final Federal Permit, Monopile Installation to Start in May The DP3 installation vessel Orion, owned and operated by the Belgian offshore construction specialist DEME, has sailed out of Invergordon in Scotland and is now en route to the United States, where it will be installing monopile foundations at the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project site. On 15 April, DEME announced that Orion had completed the monopile installation at the Scottish offshore wind farm Moray West and “started its voyage across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States, heading to its next project in Virginia”. ... BOEM Designates Oregon Areas for 2.4 GW of Offshore Wind - offshorewind.biz  (Feb 14) |

Feb 14 · The US Bureau Of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has designated two final wind energy areas (WEAs) offshore Oregon which could accommodate 2.4 GW of offshore wind capacity. The two areas total approximately 195,012 acres and they avoid 98 per cent of the areas recommended for exclusion due to their importance as commercial fishing grounds, BOEM said. The Coos Bay WEA is 61,204 acres and is located 32 miles from shore while the Brookings WEA is 133,808 acres and is about 18 miles from shore. Aug 03, 2022 · Investment in the offshore wind sector in the first half of this year amounted to USD 32 billion, 52 per cent more than in the same same period in 2021, according to BloombergNEF (BNEF). The financing of the 1 GW China Three Gorges (CTG) Yangjiang Yangxi Shapa Qingzhouwu Offshore Wind Farm for USD 2.1 billion was the largest deal during this period, BNEF’s report says.
